Something I did...
I'm also working on something more elaborated, which I hope a lot of people likes! :)

I have been writing too. I have a ton of ideas for upcoming storylines. Wow, having a kid (and having to spend lots of hours breastfeeding) really does wonders for your inspiration.

A big hearty hug to Howard Tayler of Schlock Mercenary. He got his shoulder injured. Get well, Howard.

Beautiful picture.
The hand really jumps at me. I like hands. Wish I could draw hands as nicely as a lot of my webcomic colleagues. :)
Glad you're all safe!

Practice drawing your own hand in various poses. It also helps to do exercises like drawing it without looking at the page. (This tends to yield ugly drawings that for some reason still look like the thing drawn, but with parts in the wrong places. Great for learning to get the FEEL of what you're drawing into the sketch.)

Proportion is also essential. Lots of people make the angles too sharp or the palm too large.

Very nice sketch. I like the shading, the eyes, the hair... Well done.

Wait. *eyes the sketch* Is that her underwear showing?

I like it a lot. It feels different, but very, very good.

(Had to check - at first, I thought the coffee cup might have been an apple. But understanding the temporality of it, yeah, I'd guess those are Margaret's bottoms we're seeing.)

Stay healthy, safe, and inspired, Maritza!

I really like the studying aspet of it. We've heard other characters groan about classes/tests, but have never really heard anything like that from Margaret. Granted she is trying to fight off the forces of the devil, but she is still a college student.

=)

Thanks for the hug, Maritza. And thanks for hugging from the left side. :-)

(And congratulations on the baby! Even having watched my wife expel four of those things from her womb, I'm still amazed that women will go through that.)

Spectacular picture, Maritza! :)

And I'm glad you have a bunch of storyline ideas! I'm looking forward to some shorter funner stories... the epics can be fun, but year-long stories get old after a bit.

Take care!

Hey, congrats on everything that's happened, to start off.

Secondly, I like the picture, it has a "relaxing" air about it (minus the fact that she's reading a CALCULUS book o.x) Just a little thing bugs me about the coffee cup, the rim seems to be behind the lips (on the side of the face) It looks a bit off, is all.

Great work on the comic! I've been reading it for coming on 3 years now :)

That's because when you're drinking from a mug, it actually tends to go up to the nose, while Margaret's is over to one side. However, that can also be explained in that Margaret is sipping at the coffee while studying intently. She doesn't want to take her eyes off the Calculus book for one second.

Afterall, you never know when a certain ISB is going to spring a surprise quiz on them...

3 a.m. - "What are you doing here, Professor Dover?" "SURPRISE EXAM! UP UP UP!!! Time to see what you know and if you flunk!" "Gah... it's 3 in the morning, you ISB! Go home!" "Ah, then you're just going to flunk then?" "... grr, no. Give me that quiz, you sadistic bastard you..."

*grin*

At first I thought she was lighting up a cigarette. It took me a second to register that as a coffee mug.

That's 'cus it's too small for Margaret.

Nice pic, Mari and it's nice to know you're being inspired.
