Things I learned three days ago
On July 7th, 2005 I learned some fundamental truths of life.

* You're never ready. You *think* you're ready. But at 4:00 am, when you go from "damn, I'm never going to that restaurant again" to "OMGWTFit'shappeningshitshitSHIT" in 15 minutes flat, you start remembering all the things that you forgot to do.
* There's pain. And there's PAIN. From the rest of your life, I'm sure you'll be able to cauterize your wounds with gun powder while cracking jokes and whistling.
* When you're sure you can't do it, there's still a little bit left.
* You can be deliriously happy while someone is sticking a needle up your ass (well, without being into SM) ;)
* You keep hearing how it is, and they never really tell you how it is. It's one of those things you only know about when you live it.
* Women are crazy. We *HAVE* to be crazy to be willing to do this more than once. And I have to be one crazy woman because now I understand it too. Hell, it makes sense, even if it doesn't.

If it's not obvious yet, my little baby is here. Right now she's asleep, curled up with a very, very small hand next to her very soft and small cheek. She was 3.300 kg and when they cleaned her up and put her on my chest, her eyes were WIDE open and enormous. I have never seen a newborn with eyes that huge and attentive. She was looking at me, and I looked at her, and she stopped crying instantly while she listened to my heartbeat. And I told her: I know you. And you know me, don't you? And yes, she did.

I am very happy. So so so very very happy. Pics to follow, soon. When I'm done with aaaaaall the stuff I have to catch up on.

Maritza

Congratulations on delivering little Nadia. I'm not sure if a demon wishing for the best is a good idea, so, i'll just say, damned good luck to it all.
hmm...that's not better at all...is it?
